Winnow Solutions


Winnow is an international food waste management company that works with hotels, restaurants, and large catering operations worldwide. Their use of data analytics and AI to measure and reduce food waste strongly influenced the concept of Waste Wise. Winnow demonstrates how technology can support chefs by providing insights into waste patterns without removing human decision-making from the kitchen. This source helped shape the idea of combining digital tools with operational awareness rather than relying solely on automation.

OVAM – Openbare Vlaamse Afvalstoffenmaatschappij (Belgium)


OVAM is the Flemish Public Waste Agency and a key national authority on waste management and circular economy practices. Their research and guidelines on food waste prevention in hospitality provided a local and regulatory perspective for this project. OVAM’s focus on prevention, measurement, and staff involvement reinforced the importance of training and audits as part of Green Plate Solutions, rather than focusing only on technological solutions.
